BACC Sends Typhoon Relief to the Philippines

Cars upended by the strength of Ketsana

Homes of disciples detroyed by flood waters

Make shift shelters with the help of disciples
On September 26-27th Typhoon Ketsana hit the Philippines causing extensive damage and loss of life. The BACC was in contact with Koko Enrile, the Evangelist of the Metro Manila Christian Church on Monday September 28th asking about the damages, what the needs were and how we might help.
Although assessment is difficult in the first 48 hours, partial reports coming in from the field have indicated that at least 45% of the 2400 members of the Metro Manila Christian Church were impacted significantly by the storm. Heavily damaged homes, loss of cars, clothes, businesses and other essentials were included in the initial reports. The Church in Manila is still trying to contact 78 members it cannot account for and the weather bureau has announced the approach of at least two additional typhoons expected to hit the area before the weekend.
Because food and shelter are an immediate concern the BACC has already wired monies to the Metro Manila Christian Church to help with the distribution of food and water and shelter. We will continue to monitor the situation and stand ready to provide further assistance. We want to thank the members of the BACC whose generosity and sacrifices make it possible for us to provide immediate and significant relief for our spiritual family in the Philippines. Please continue to pray for the safety, well being and quick recovery for those impacted by this tragedy.
